What to Expect During the Physical Exam
You will receive the GSH Executive Physical Examination Preparation Kit at least a week before your scheduled exam. The kit will include a preparation booklet with simple instructions and a description of what to expect on your executive physical examination and a complimentary GSH Executive Fitness Nike pants and jacket for you to wear during your testing.
The Executive Health Program Manager will greet you upon your arrival at the hospital and will escort you to our testing facility. A comprehensive health evaluation starts at Samaritan Imaging Center where all the radiology and laboratory tests are performed. You will proceed that same day to visit your Good Samaritan Hospital (GSH) primary care doctor or executive health physician assigned to you, who will have the test results and will conduct a thorough medical history and physical examination. At that point, your GSH physician may make some recommendations for additional treatment or follow-up visits.
The majority of the tests will be completed efficiently within one location. The testing process includes the following activities:
- Check-in and registration
- Collection of urine sample for urinalysis
- Blood draw for laboratory tests
- Break for snack (food will be provided)
- Radiology and Cardiology Tests (includes cardiac scoring, electrocardiogram, chest x-ray, carotid ultrasound, bone density scanning, and mammogram – optional test if female)
The entire process can be completed within 4 hours.
Results
Your Good Samaritan Hospital (GSH) primary care doctor or executive health physician will have the test immediately after your executive physical examination. A summary of your results will be provided to you in a personalized medical record book with electronic copies of your imaging tests in a compact disk (CD) and USB memory stick.
